1st day of soccer

V's first day of soccer was yesterday. it was so cute to watch all the little kids . they started out with some warm up stretches. it was funny because they went for a little run and i guess V thought they were getting to far away from me and her dad so instead of finishing the run she ran back to us. it was sweet.

after streches they partnered up, V ended up being paired with a little girl named Abby. so the first thing they did was got on opposite sides and they kicked the ball back and forth. V did really good at the kicking and eventually learned how to stop the ball with her foot.

the next skill they practiced was dribbling the ball...that took V a little longer to get. she didn't really understand that you are suppose to hit the ball kinda hard and run and then kick it again...she was barely tapping the ball so it took her forever to get through the cones they had set up.

after that they practiced both skills...kicking and dribbling. they paired back up and this time they dribbled the ball to one cone and then kicked the ball to their partner...their partner then dribbled the ball back to the other cone...while that partner was dribbling the ball the other one would run to the other cone...and then the partner with the ball would kick it...did that make any sense...lol?! it sounded kinda complictated for 3-4 year olds to understand...but to my surprise they did it really good.

it was sooo much fun...can't wait till next monday!

*note to self....put fully charged batteries in the camera next week so not to run out halfway through the practice. : )
